Tiramisu Ice Cream

Wordless Wednesday. Ingredients: 1 pack (250g) mascarpone cheese 1 can (400g) condensed milk 1 cup (250ml) cream 1 1/4 cup (310ml) milk a pinch of vanilla powder 1/2 cup (125ml) ready to drink coffee 1 pack lady fingers (I used sponge cake) cocoa powder   How to: In a large bowl, mix mascarpone cheese and condensed milk until incorporated with hand whisk. Add milk, cream and a pinch of vanilla powder. Mix well. Transfer the mixture into ice cream machine. Around 5 minutes before your ice cream done, prepare a bread pan and place some plastic wrap in it (enough to cover all the surface inside the pan). The plastic is to make it easier for you to take the ice cream cake out from the pan when you want to serve it. Pour the coffee into a bowl. Gently soak lady fingers in the coffee and place them at the bottom of the pan. Then sprinkle some cocoa powder. Divide the ice cream into 3 parts. Spread 1/3 of cream on top of lady …

Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream

Spring is coming really slowly here. I remember last year during this time, I can already enjoy cherry blossoms everywhere in the city but this year.. meeeeh, not even a tiny bit green spot yet. But then sun is up longer already, feels like summer when you’re inside but still winter temperature when you’re outside 😀 Is it too early to enjoy homemade ice cream? I don’t think so. There’s no too early, too late or wrong time to eat ice cream in my opinion. I can enjoy ice cream anytime. It has a calming effect for me. Ingredients: 200g cream cheese 3/4 cup low fat milk (1,5% fat) 1/4 cup sour milk 3/4 cup heavy cream 1 can (400g) condensed milk 200g strawberry puree (with bits if you like) salt   How to: Place cream cheese and sour milk in a bowl, mix until nice and smooth using hand whisk. Add condensed milk and strawberry puree, mix well. Lastly add a pinch of salt, milk and heavy cream. Stir well. Place in ice cream …

Hot Chocolate Ice Cream

Only the third day in the new class and my brain already very hot. Yes, you heard it right. Hot brain. This new class is definitely a lot harder than my previous one. More advance grammar. Yay! It took me a while to learn English grammar (and I’m still learning now too) now I have to learn Swedish grammar too. How fun!   Back to our ice cream. Since my husband gave me the ice cream machine as our anniversary gift, I never buy store bought ice cream anymore. There are tons of ice cream recipes I’d like to try. This is one of them. My family drink hot chocolate a lot. And tea. No coffee. So, if we enjoy hot chocolate a lot, why not making the cold version? Hot chocolate ice cream it is. Once again, the basic recipe is the same as my vanilla ice cream, but for this flavour I added 3 tbsp cocoa powder. That’s it. Oh, if you noticed the sprinkles on the ice cream. That’s my favourite sprinkles, …

Oreo Mint Ice Cream

Prepare cupcake pan and the liners. Place 1 oreo cookie in each cupcake mould. Pour ice cream mixture on it. Repeat the process. When you ready to serve, put some whipped cream on top of the ice cream and oreo crumbs.

Vanilla Ice cream

Hmm.. I don’t if it’s a good time to post an ice cream recipe 😀 But in my opinion, there is no wrong time to eat ice cream (tell me you agree this time) 😛 Getting an ice cream machine from husband is a great investment. That way I can make any kind of flavours I want. And so far, my favourite ice cream flavour is orange, raspberry ripple, chocolate mint and violet. The orange flavour is pretty special. I have a favourite ice cream place in my hometown, Balikpapan. It is a quite fancy place, and that place has been labelled as a “only-rich-people-can-eat-there” (disagree with that). Because all the ice creams are homemade and using “real” sugar, so me and my sisters never get sick from eating ice cream as much as we want from that place. And everytime I go there, orange flavour is a must! Just loved it! So, last year when I finally had chance to have a short holiday in Balikpapan with husband and my daughter, I dragged my …

Purple Sweet Potato Ice cream

I’m pretty sure you have NO idea how happy I was when I found this beautiful sweet potato in one of my favourite Asian shop. But to avoid disappointment I only took 2 big ones. Well, few weeks ago, when I shopped in the Asian shop, I found sweet potatoes with purple skin, so I though it was purple sweet potatoes. So I took 3 big ones in hoping that I can try lots of recipes using purple sweet potato as the main ingredients. I steamed them with an excitement. Then when its finally time to peel them, it was A HUGE HUGE disappointment to me. It’s actually the white sweet potato. I was like down to the centre of the earth (exaggerating a bit :P) But still, the recipes I wanted to try already opened in the computer 😦 And to cheer my self up, I made cupcakes from them and guess what?! Yup! I added purple colouring to my cupcakes. Muahahahaha!!! *evil laugh*. Here is the fun part. After I mixed all the …
