Mushroom-Shaped Bread

Morning ^^ Two weeks left until 2017. And this blog will reborn. Yay! Just a short post today. I want to share the latest trend (again) in Indonesia. This time is mushroom shaped bread. It supposed to look like shiitake mushroom. I’m not sure I did a good job or not here though. For the buns I used the recipe from here and for the top it’s only 5 tsp rice flour, 5 tsp cocoa powder, 5 tbsp water. Mix everything together and brush it on to the buns before the second proofing (after you shaped them into a ball). For the filling I’m just filling them with some chocolate, you can also make it plain if you want.   Until next time ^^

Terang Bulan / Martabak Manis

Morning Monday ^^ I’m sharing with you Indonesian pancake again today. Just because I feel like it. I love all kind of pancake. Thick or thin doesn’t matter for me. But this one is the one I love the most. I’ve shared the recipe before here. I used the exact same recipe. Use a very low heat when you cook it, to avoid burn at the bottom and raw on top.     Stay warm and until next time 🙂

Super Easy Eggless Chocolate Cake

It was Mother’s Day in Sweden last Sunday. And I made this cake here for me, because I’m a mother too, obviously and both my daughter are still too tiny to make me anything edible (duh!) 😛 But I got a giant MOM mug and pills of love from them (well, they were from husband of course, but let’s take it as their presents) 😀 There was some funny moments when my eldest daughter gave the presents to me though. She came running to the kitchen when I was doing some stuffs and then she said, “Bunda –(it’s Indonesian for mother, and what my daughters call me)–, Pappa got you a surprise!” Then hubby was like, “No, it’s a present from you and Eira –(my baby daughter)– not from Pappa”, he said. And then Alyzza looked confuse and said, “Oh yeah, from me” with a big grin on her cheeky face. Pretending to look a bit surprise I asked her where did she get the money to buy me presents because I haven’t given her …

Terang Bulan (Indonesian Pancake Balls) again!

It’s Friyay! Very grey here though. Hopefully we’ll get some sun in the weekend because me and some of my Indonesian friends are planning to have a picnic on Sunday as well as a farewell party for a friend who’ll go back to Indonesia on Monday 😥 Anyway, if you’re following my blog, I’ve shared the recipe for Indonesian pancake here. I’ve been using that recipe until I found this one. And never go back again since then. You see, the best way to cook Indonesian pancake is by using iron pan. Or any thick pan. And with low heat. Because our pancake is pretty thick compare to other pancakes. And by using thick pan, it will cook evenly. If you use normal non stick pan, the most common thing will happen is that the bottom will be super dark but the top will still be wet. So thick pan will make it cook evenly and will give it a nice golden brown colour. This time I was experimenting with new pan. Got it from …

Chocolate Mousse

Summer is surely here now. After rain and wind pretty much all day everyday around 2 weeks ago, but since last week, the weather was getting better. Bright and clean sky. And just enough wind. Perfect. My husband and oldest daughter are going to a theme park today. I really want to come along too of course, but unfortunately it’s a bit chilly even though the sun shines brightly. And I don’t want my baby daughter to get sick from staying out all day. So I decided to stay home with her. Watching one of my favourite Korean Show while organizing my blog and some other stuffs. Today I want to share chocolate mousse. I know I’ve made this before and serve it in chocolate cups and also made the pie version, and in fact, it’s the same recipe again. Only served it in a different way. I had 2 pieces of brownies that won’t be enough for dessert for me, husband and my daughter. So I tried to make the most of it by …

Baked Churros

Before we talk about the recipe. I want to share a happy news from our family. Our new family member finally here. And it’s a girl! She was born last week. Everything happened very quick. Woke up from sudden stomach ache at around 21.30, went to hospital by ambulance and half an hour later she was born. That quick. Although I gave birth by my self (husband has to take care of our oldest daughter until his mum comes from another town), but thankfully everything went well. And by lunch we already back home again. So I’m guessing it’ll be even more quiet here. But I have more energy now and feel a lot lighter, the only thing that will keep me away from the blog is my new girl. I just want to cuddle and snuggle with her. You understand that right? 😉 Okay, now we’re back to the recipe. I’ve made churros before here. It turned out well and tasty but I had to change the recipe a little a bit. And …

Snapshots from Ridha’s Kitchen

Hello December, hello everyone! It’s pretty much a dead blog is it not? Please blame it on my pregnancy hormones. They make my brain slower, mood swings, not to mention other unexpected things. This time is definitely slightly more difficult compare to my first pregnancy. Just hoping I won’t have a slightly more difficult delivery too. Anyway, I really am sorry for letting the blog abandoned like this for long time now. Even though we still have around 11 weeks until our new family member arrives, but I’ve been reading a lot about baby stuffs than I ever did with our first daughter (long story). I spent around a week (for one item) doing research and reading reviews and everything before deciding on which one to buy. That’s how I spent my time in front of computer lately (more like on my tablet and lay down on the bed, I dislike sitting in front of computer since being pregnant). I actually have tried out so many new recipes (mostly Indonesian foods and snacks). But I …
